Recruitment Notice for the Young Editorial Board of Shandong Science
To deepen the academic leadership role of journals, serve the national innovation-driven development strategy, further enhance academic influence, and build an open and collaborative academic ecosystem, Shandong Science is now openly recruiting young editorial board members from universities and research institutes. We warmly invite young scholars passionate about scientific research and innovation, with a sense of academic responsibility, to join us in empowering the quality improvement of Shandong Science. Together, we aim to promote the journal's inclusion in high-level evaluation databases, create a high-quality platform for natural science exchanges, and foster interdisciplinary integration. We look forward to partnering with young scholars to use Shandong Science as a fulcrum, jointly unlocking new possibilities for scientific research innovation and academic dissemination!
1 Recruitment Requirements
(1) Age under 45 years old, holding a doctoral degree or an associate senior professional title or above (requirements may be relaxed for exceptionally outstanding candidates), and in agreement with the journal's editorial philosophy;
(2) In the past five years, published more than five high-impact papers as the first author or corresponding author in authoritative domestic and international journals;
(3) Active in the academic field, with a strong commitment to supporting journal development and the willingness and energy to contribute to elevating *Shandong Science* to a higher-level journal;
(4) Have sufficient time and energy to dedicate to journal work, including manuscript review, writing, editorial organization, and solicitation of contributions;
(5) Priority will be given to those who have served as principal investigators for national natural science foundation projects or provincial/ministerial-level key research projects;
(6) Research Directions: Marine Science, New Materials, Energy and Power, Transportation, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Natural Active Products, Agricultural Microbiology, Environment and Ecology, Fiber Optics and Photonic Sensing Technology, Intelligence Analysis and Data Management, etc.
(7) Priority will be given to those who serve as reviewers for this journal with a conscientious and responsible review process.
2 Rights of Young Editorial Board Members
(1) Upon selection, a Certificate of Appointment as Young Editorial Committee Member (electronic certificate) will be issued, with a term of 2 years per appointment. Outstanding contributors may be reappointed;
(2) You can enjoy higher-quality and more efficient academic publishing services. Papers submitted by the young editorial board members as the first author or corresponding author, or high-quality manuscripts they recommend, will be given priority for publication after peer review;
(3) The information of young editorial board members can be published on the official media platforms of this journal to promote their research achievements, thereby enhancing academic influence and visibility;
(4) Young editorial board members with outstanding contributions or two consecutive renewals may be prioritized for appointment as formal editorial board members of the journal;
(5) May serve as a guest editor, collaborating with the editorial board to organize academic topics, columns, and various academic activities, establishing a communication platform, gathering experts in relevant fields, and jointly planning research initiatives;
(6) Free access to annual print or digital sample issues is available.
3 Responsibilities of Young Editorial Board Members
(1) Actively participate in the quality improvement of journals, prioritize and organize cutting-edge and trending manuscripts in the responsible disciplinary fields, and promote the first-time publication of original achievements with theoretical breakthroughs or significant practical applications in this journal;
(2) Actively participate in academic activities by soliciting, compiling, promoting, and recommending articles for journals through various channels to assist in enhancing the influence of Shandong Science;
During the employment period, at least one high-quality manuscript must be authored or commissioned for this journal and ultimately accepted for publication;
(4) Actively participate in the peer review process of this journal;
(5) Actively citing articles from this journal and other efforts that contribute to enhancing the journal's impact.

5 Selection Process
Initial screening of application materials → Editorial selection → Confirmation and announcement → Issuance of electronic appointment certificate.
6 Precautions
(1) The application materials must be genuine and valid. Any falsification will result in disqualification;
(2) Editorial Committee members must adhere to work discipline and actively participate in activities;
(3) The final interpretation of this notice shall be subject to the authority of Shandong Science.
The journal will determine candidates based on the applicant's research field, direction, academic level, regional distribution, and other relevant factors, taking into account the journal's characteristics and column requirements. The results will be published on the website (https://www.sdkx.net) and the official WeChat account (Shandong Science).
