Abstract: We rapidly separated and purified flavonoids from Erigeron breviscapus by highspeed counter current chromatography (HSCCC). The extraction conditions were solvent system of petroleum etherethyl acetatemethanolwater (4:6:3.5:6.5,V/V), rotation speed of 850 r/min,flow speed of 2 mL/min, and detection wavelength of 254 nm. Four flavonoids, baicalein (87 mg), luteolin (35 mg),quercetin (46 mg) and apigenin (92 mg) were separated from crude extract of 500 mg, whose purities are 94.6%, 92.5%, 98.2% and 97.5% by HPLC analysis. Experimental results show that the approach is rapid, highly efficient and purified.
