Abstract:

The effect of fructo oligosaccharides and isomaltooligosaccharide in different concentration to promote the intestinal peristalsis is discussed by using zebrafish. We selected the 5 d normal growth zebrafish larvae, and then added to a series of fructo oligosaccharides or isomaltooligosaccharide with a range of concentration as experiment group. The number of intestinal peristalsis was counted in all groups including control group and oligosaccharide and oligoisomaltose treated groups with different dose under the microscope after 24 h. The result showed that fructo oligosaccharides and isomaltooligosaccharide can promote zebrafish larval intestinal peristalsis in the concentration of 125~500 mg/mL in dosedependent manner. The effect of oligosaccharide was more obvious than oligoisomaltose under same dose. Using zebrafish can achieve early and rapid screening for drugs promoting intestinal peristalsis.
