Abstract:

We established a rapid and accurate method for the content determination of Sudan I with ¹H NMR spectroscopy. We acquired ¹H NMR spectra of the mixture of Sudan I and benzoic acid at 25 ℃ with Varian 600 MHz spectrometer, CDCl3 as solution, benzoic acid as internal standard. We determined the content of 99.47 %, 99.34 % and 99.51% of 3 batches of Sudan I. Results show that the method can be applied to content determination and quality control of Sudan I.
