Abstract:

We investigate the transport properties of a open circular quantum billiard in weak magnetic field with a semiclassical theory. We also obtain the elements of transmission matrix with semiclassical approximation Green′s function and eigenfunctions. We further calculate classical trajectories of an electron, and compare the quantum spectral peak positions of transmission matrix elements with the length of electronic classical orbit. Results show that the peak positions are well consistent with the orbit length. This demonstrates that the heterojunction is a good theoretical model to describe the microstructure of electron conduction.

Key words: circular billiards, quantum transport, magnetic field, hypergeometric function
