Abstract: We designed a formaldehyde gas detection sensor based on the aldehyde oxidase principle. Its sensitive component was manufactured through such process as selfassembly, activation, and adsorption with gold electrode as substrate, and had better electrocatalysis and oxidation effect to formaldehyde. We further designed a formaldehyde gas detection biosensor with the electrode and a LPC1788 chip as its CPU. The biosensor was tested with formaldehyde gas of 0.1 mg/m3.Results demonstrate that the sensor has as rapid response time as 20 s, shorter recovery time and lower detection limit as 0.01 mg/m3 to formaldehyde gas.

Key words: aldehyde oxidase, gold electrode, biosensor, LPC1788
