Abstract:

An automotive electronic system is widely applied to engine management, safety management, comfort management, information and entertainment because of the requirement of a modern car for safety, reliability, comfort and environment protection. Its safety and reliability therefore become concerned issues. This paper presents its possible failure reasons from software failure, chip failure, electromagnetic interference and manufacturing technology and some basic solutions of eliminating possible failures.

Key words: automotive electronics, software failure, chip failure, electromagnetic interference, manufacturing technology
