Abstract: We prepared nanosized trivalent chromium colorful passivator through the adjustment of temperature, time, pH value, and nanosized SiO2 adding into passivation liquid. We also employed neutral salt spray tests (NSS), scanning electronic microscope (SEM), energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), and Xray fluorescence (XRF) to compare corrosion resistance of passivators between SiO2 preadding and postadding. We further characterized structure, chemical constituent and spatial distribution of passivation film. NSS experimental results indicate that anti corrosion performance of trivalent chromium passivation film increases by one time through SiO2 nanomaterial adding.

Key words: trivalent chromium, passivation film, XRF, Zinc, corrosion resistance
