Abstract:

Gait can be captured from a far distance. This paper makes an overview about the origin, history and the state of art of gait recognition. It also summarizes and classifies the existing gait recognition algorithms. Moreover, the paper discusses the development tendency of future study of gait recognition and considers that fusion with other biometrics is the way to make practical use of gait recognition techniques.

Key words: ait feature, identity recognition, long distance, feature fusion, development tendency
