Abstract:

We address the impacts of genotypes, explants and hormones on callus induction with cotyledons and hypocotyl from three different cucumbers, Xinjin 11, Lübao and Jinbao 218 as explants and exogenous hormones IAA and 6-BA inducing callus in MS media. Results show that callus formation time and optimal hormonal concentration selection exhibit significant distinctions for different cucumber genotypes. Moreover, different explants demonstrate different optimal hormone level and callus formation. Optimal hormonal concentration of IAA is 0.2~0.3 mg/L, and that of 6BA is 1.2~3 mg/L.

Key words: cucumber, tissue culture, callus
