Abstract:

Neurospora crassa is a kind of multicellular filamentous fungi and also a kind of important eukaryotic model organism. It  holds a significant position in such research area as modern genetics, biochemistry and molecular biology. This paper briefly presents its physiological characteristics and a survey of its molecular biology research, especially the advances of its application in fermentation industry.

Key words: Neurospora crassa, molecular biology, biotransformation
