Abstract:

Large amount of pharmaceutical waste will be produced during abamectin production. Existence of pesticide residue greatly restricts resource utilization of pharmaceutical waste. We isolated a strain AZ11 from those long-term stacked pharmaceutical waste, which had better abamectin degradation function. It was identified as Bacillus stearothermophilus through 16s rDNA sequence analysis. Experimental results show that the degradation rate can reach 77.6% after 72 hours of culture. The strain can grow better at temperature higher than 40 ℃. It demonstrates better protease and celluase activity. This indicates that the strain can implement resource and hazardfree utilization of pharmaceutical waste.

Key words: abamectin, pharmaceutical waste, Bacillus stearothermophilus, isolation, biodegradation
