Abstract: Single agent Trichoderma harzianum or Bacillus cereus and combination of both were used to investigate the preventive and control effects of different treatments against root-knot nematode Meloidogyne spp. on tomatoes. The field experimental results indicated that the combination of two microbial agents showed more distinct preventive and control effects than the use of single strain after two consecutive applications of biocontrol bacteria. At 45 days after, the preventive and control effects of the combination were 70.2% and 48.4%, respectively, and the reduction rates of root-knot nematodes in rhizosphere soil were 61.4% and 54.9% and those in tomato roots were 75.9% and 60.7%. The preventive and control effects of the combination on root-knot nematodes were significantly higher compared with those observed using single strain (P<0.05). The study results provide evidence for the development of combined microbial agents to control tomato root-knot nematodes.
