Abstract:

We investigated heavy metal concentrations of honeysuckle and analyzed the risk of Pb, Cd, Hg and As to human health in its soaking solution with the honeysuckle from Liuyu Town of Shandong province as subjects. We preprocessed its samples by microwavedigestion method. We determined the concentrations of Pb, Cd, Cu, Ni, Cr and Mn by ICPMS.We also determined the contents of Hg and As with AFP in soaking solution. Results indicate that the contents of Pb, Cd,Hg,As and Cu do not exceed the limits defined by “Hygienic Standard of Green Trade Standards of Importing & Exporting Medicinal Plants & Preparations”. The contents of Pb, Cd, Cu, Hg, As and Cr in the soaking solution (10 g honeysuckle soaked in 500 mL water) are much lower than the thresholds of class III water quality described by “Environmental Quality Standard for Ground Water”. However, the contents of Ni and Mn are greatly higher than their standards, exceed indexes of 1.23 and 5.91. Daily intake amount of Pb, Cd, Hg and As only accounts for 0.63%,0.40%, 0.09% and 0.09% of ADI (Acceptable Daily Intake). Drinking of honeysuckle soaking solution can pose little human health risk.
